The San Francisco Citywide Cultural Resources Survey (SF Survey) is a multi-year effort to identify and document places and resources of cultural, historical, and architectural importance to San Francisco's diverse communities. These places and resources include tangible aspects of our environment, such as buildings, structures, objects, sites, and districts, as well as intangible elements like oral traditions, performing arts, and festivals.
Everyone has a role in sharing and sustaining culture. We hope that you will join us in this effort by sharing photographs, memories, and/or histories that you feel are important to the story of your community. Your contributions will help inform SF Survey findings and enhance our collective sense of belonging and understanding of the City's history.
Your submission will be shared on our cultural resources inventory so that other members of the public can learn from your story. You are not required to provide personal identifying information, such as your name, when completing this form, but please note that any information you share is subject to disclosure under the California Public Records Act and the San Francisco Sunshine Ordinance. In other words, if a member of the public asks to see or obtain copies of documents related to the SF Survey, they may obtain the information you share, together with any other relevant documents. However, the SF Planning Department is prevented from sharing personal contact information such as email addresses, home addresses, or telephone numbers.
The submission will be credited with your name and/or organization if provided or will otherwise be listed as “anonymous.”
If you have any additional questions about this form or how data provided will be used by the SF Planning Department, please reach out to us by emailing CPC.Survey@sfgov.org or leaving a voicemail at (628) 652-7573.
